October 19 Sectional: Lapel
ISD Varsity Volleyball vs. Lapel for the Sectional - We came to Lutheran to play Lapel at 6:30 last night; we did our warm ups and were physically ready to play! They defeated us at the beginning of season. We wanted to pay them back. We opened competitively points tying 9-9. Then we fumbled and let them take the lead to 9 - 17. That was where we started to let them take control and lost 13 to 25. Coach Bippus told the girls that she expected them to play at least 4 or 5 games so we must fight back. Sure enough, we fought back and had a rally all the way. We were leading 24 to 23, and they called time out. We got back on the court and wanted to win so badly. With our little errors they had an opportunity to grab it and won 24 to 26. The 3rd game was our worst. I think my girls were very tense and couldn't play the way they were supposed to do. Lapel took advantage of us and won 9-25.

Ann Whited: 5 digs, 2 kills
Nukeitra Hayes: 9 kills, 3 digs
Mollie Sachs: 4 assists, 2 digs
Sami Krieger: 4 digs
Amanda Phillips: 2 kills, 9 assists
Nikki Winkler: 2 digs, 1 kill

October 11: Lutheran
In our first 2 games, we played very well. We had a chance to beat them in the 1st game. We were leading 24 to 21 but with less errors, they won 24 to26. In the 2nd, we played beautifully but lost 18 to 25. In the 3rd game, they took control of us and with our mental errors we let them win again 14 to 25. Coach Bippus told the girls that we have a hope for the sectional. We will play Lapel on Thursday and hope to meet Lutheran again in the final. I believe in my girls! We can do it!

Highlights:
Nukeitra Hayes: 13 kills, 5 digs, 3 blocks
Ann Whited: 6 kills, 7 digs
Amanda Phillips: 10 assists, 2 digs

October 10: Eastern Hancock
We played against Eastern Hancock here at our court. It was our last home match. At CSSD, it was a cake walk for us but it wasn't last night. We played so well, but the games were like day and night. Lots of cheering and silence in the stands. First game, we were a little off balance and they led 7 to 0 but we managed to catch up and lost 22 to 25. Second game, we were so hot and we made 21 to 10 but our mental errors got to us but we won 25 to 21. The third and fourth games were up and down all the way but we lost 14-25 and 23-25. I'm very proud of my players to have improved a lot since the beginning of the season.

September 28: Eminence
We finally got our chemistry back and played far better than on Wednesday. It was mostly rally in all 4 games. We won the 1st game 28 to 26. We lost control with our serving and receiving weaknesses. We lost the next 3 games 19-25, 25-27, 17-25. NukeitraHayes had 33 kills; she broke her own record. Ann Whited had 7 kills and 5 aces. Mollie Sachs got 17 assists. Sami Krieger had 12 kills and 2 blocks. Amanda Phillips got 28 assists.

September 27: Ritter
Our mental and physical weren't with us on the floor for entire three games. Maybe the team was exhausted the Spike Out last weekend. The girls knew their chemistry just wasn't there. We lost 14-25, 9-25, and 12-25. N. Hayes had 4 kills and 2 blocks. A. Phillips had 2 kills, and 2 assists.

Mollie Sachs: 6 assists
Sami Krieger: 7 kills
Amanda Phillips: 11 assists

September 14: Park Tudor
Varsity Volleyball vs. Park Tudor: Again, Park Tudor was just like Heritage Christian, but Coach Bippus thought they were little off so it was to our advantage to play better than them. We learned from our mistakes in last Tuesday's match so in some areas we have improved.

N. Hayes: 6 kills, 3 blocks
A. Whited: 2 kills, 4 assists
M. Sachs: 4 assists, 2 aces
N. Winkler: 3 kills

September 12: Heritage Christian
Varsity Volleyball vs. Heritage Christian on September 12 - It's no secret that HC has a very good team. We expected that. We knew it would be a very challenging match and a good experience for us to play an advanced team. We played the way we were taught to play. The biggest problem was our struggle to receive their serves.

Nukeitra Hayes: 4 kills , 1 block
Ann Whited: 1 kill
Amanda Phillips: 4 assists

September 7: Sheridan
ISD defeated Sheridan last night. It was a seesaw in all 4 games. It was diffcult to make a run. Both teams were stubborn on the court, but we defeated them 3 to 1. Won 28-26, lost 21-25, won 25-18, won 27-25.

A. Phillips 13 assists
A. Whited 5 assists & 9 kills

S. Krieger 7 kills & 3 blocks
N. Winkler 5 aces

September 6: Covenant Christian
Today we traveled to Covenant Christian. In the first game , the score was 11 ISD) and 25 (Covenant) . Despite the score, the girls did well. During the second game, our serve-receive errors got the best of us. We tried to fight back but lost.8-25.

September 5: Waldron
We tasted our first win in one of those difficult games. It was very close game like most games, but in the 2nd game we choked with many errors. However, we handled it well in the next 2 games. There were many good plays during the games. Nukeitra made 12 kills and 5 blocks. Ann Whited made 6 assists and 6 kills.

September 2: Tiption Invitational
We opened with Alexandria who we never played before and did pretty well with some of our different players' positions and roles. We lost both games 22-25 & 13-25. Our next match was against Taylor; we were pretty sure we would play better than the first match. Unfortunately, we didn't do our best and let them take control us and lost both games, 15-25 & 26-28. Our 3rd match was against Clinton Prairie which was the most exciting games for us all after 2 losses in the morning. We played much better with a fundamental game. CP was also a good team. We lost 20-25 & 15-25. We were supposed to play Northwest for our 4th match, but they decided to forfeit us and we "won" that match. We were 1-3 for that tournament.

August 30: Lapel
We played slightly better than in our 1st match, but we're improving with each match. We re developing game chemistry with experience. Yet, we lost the 3 games, 18-25, 11-25 and 14-25.
