March 2: Orchards (IISL)
In the game, our girls played their hearts out because the game was about “Do or Die.” We played great in the first quarter but we couldn’t continue the same momentum in the last three quarters. Basically, Orchard took advantage of our turnovers and weak defense. After the game, I told the girls that I will never find any team like our team because they never once gave up, even at what the score said. They played out their hearts out until the games were over. Now, I will take this time to salute the 8th graders to Varsity level and wish them the best of luck! I know that the 8th graders will contribute their skills to help the Varsity basketball program. Our 7/8th grade basketball team will sorely miss Joella Hazelett, Jasmine Jeter, Brandi Himes, LaShae Smith, and Giuletta Maucere.
February 24: St. Richard's
February 19: Traders Point
Through the game, our girls have showed their highest motivation, as we kept our lead through the game. I told my girls that we need to reduced turnovers and play good defense. Our girls decided to follow my game plan and they played great through the game. My assistant coaches and I really were pleased with how our girls played.
February 17: Kingsway Christian
Through the game, our girls couldn’t handle Kingsway’s defense as they are disciplined team. We had too many turnovers and they took advantage of our turnovers. Again, our girls did play their best to compete with them and they never did once bend their head until the game was over. My assistant coaches and I really are proud of our girls for keeping their positive attitude until the game was over.
February 12: St. Richard's
Through the game, our girls couldn’t execute the game plan. They did contribute 110% effort by giving their best defense against St.Richards. Through the game, St.Richards took advantage of our girls’ turnovers and easy baskets. I know that our girls did give their best ability to compete with St. Richards and my assistant coach and I are really pleased how our girls fought through the game even though we had been down through the game. Our girls did not once bend their head down. One player said “In our heart we are winner, whatever the score says.” My assistant coach and I are pleased with what the girl said and it really represents what the team is.
February 11: International
Through three quarters, our girls took the full charge on our game plan until International changed their defense. Our girls began to panic and International took advantage of our panic. In a second half, International scored sixteen points and our girls scored 11 points. The difference is five points and International took advantage of our turnovers. My assistant coach and I know that our girls contributed 110% effort on the court which is a very important character for our team.
February 5 Sycamore
Our 7/8 girls played against Sycamore on Thursday, February 5. Our girls played great first half with desire and passion. When the second quarter began, our girls were fired up and started to pick up their shooting rhythm. The girls scored 12 points in the second quarter which it gave us a boost lead and maintained the lead until the game was over. It was a golden opportunity for our girls to play at Caskey Gym which we planned to have them play at Caskey once a year. All of the girls have contributed their skills in the game which led to our victory against Bethesda Christian.

Our 7/8 girls played against St.John Lutheran at the KRC. Our girls showed their best performance through the game. We couldn’t stop the best player from St.John Lutheran in the first half. January 13: Orchard
Our girls played great defense in the first half but we were struggling with our offense in first half. We were down by four points before halftime. When the girls played in the second half, the girls didn’t show the same drive as in the first half. Orchard Girls took the huge advantage of our turnovers.

We played against Trader Point last night. Our girls did not show their determination in the first half, as we allowed the opponent to score 13 points in the first half. In the second half, the girls showed different defensive attitude and allowed only 6 points in the second half. We were struggling with our offense through the game because we haven’t faced a team that played woman to woman. My assistant coach-Sarah Mast and I feel that it was a good experience for our girls to taste a different defense scheme which will help us to prepare for other opponents that use woman to woman technique. Overall, my assistant coach and I are proud of our girls as they never gave up through the game, even though we were down through the game. We lost to Traders Point and the final score is 19-9
